Eastmoreland

Sometimes you just have to buy a house in the neighborhood where you want to live even if the house isn’t quite what you want. The owners of this property did just that. The property is quite large. Though the existing house itself simply wasn’t big enough to fit the family. The project is in the Major Alteration/Addition category with the city of Portland. As the categorization implies, the house underwent drastic changes. It included a main level addition, an entirely new second story, and the relocation of the garage to open up the outdoor space for new uses. One of our goals was to make sure the big new house embraced the character of the neighborhood and maintained an architectural style appropriate to the era in which the original house was built. We enjoyed working closely with Arcalus Period Design who contributed period design consulting to the project.
